Linlithgow Palace
The ruins of Linlithgow Palace are situated in the town of Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland, 15 miles (24 km) west of Edinburgh. The palace was one of the principal residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. Although maintained after Scotland's monarchs left for England in 1603, the palace was little used, and was burned out in 1746. It is now a visitor attraction in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.

The Eiffel Tower
A cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world - the Eiffel Tower was the tallest man-made structure in the world at the time of its construction.
Here it is looking mysterious in the mist and apparently about to topple into the Seine. My attempt to take the shot at a jaunty angle has created the illusion of this alarming prospect.
Paris - Pont des Arts and the Louvre
The Pont des Arts or Passerelle des Arts is a pedestrian bridge in Paris which crosses the River Seine. It links the Institut de France and the central square (cour carrée) of the Palais du Louvre, (which had been termed the "Palais des Arts" under the First French Empire).

Paris from Montmartre
The Montparnasse tower sticks up out of a mesh of blue-grey buildings with their traditional mansards and balconies.
Paris rooftops
Apart from banging on about mansards and balconies again, I can’t think of anything to say about this photo that I haven’t already said about the previous one.
You can see the graffiti more clearly this time, and the chimney pots. I said something new after all!

Behind the river station is the Fairmont Grand Hotel. To the right of that, things get rather grungy and industrial.
